Stories from the ‘Roads’ of Empire' traces narratives of catastrophe, displacement, and subsequent renewal and contestation associated with empire by engaging with two different archives: the Imperial War Museum, and memories of London residents. The project consists of two parts: the first part is a closed encounter between Dana Olărescu, an artist, and a group of residents from Southwark area, where they will reflect together on migration stories from the archives of Imperial War Museum and will produce an installation which will be on show at the Borough Road Gallery.
A panel discussion exploring the project will take place on 16 November 18:00-21:00.
The exhibition will also be available to view after the festival has finished on 22 and 23 November, 14:00-18:00.
