Come along to this event and explore poems, stories, music, images and artworks that transport you into someone else’s world. How can we understand what is going on in someone else’s body and mind? Creative expression through the arts has an amazing power to transport us into shared experience, to let us feel what someone else feels. At this event, researchers from the Institute of Medical Humanities use the arts to understand what it’s like to live with a hidden health condition. They will draw on their work which explores 'hidden experience' and investigate experiences of health and illness which are marginalised, difficult, unspeakable, unacknowledged or invisible. This includes hearing voices, breathlessness, dreams, medically unexplained symptoms, deafness, trauma, addiction, anxiety, neurodiversity, menopause, memory and spirituality.

Please bring your own favourite pieces of artwork to share too.
