At the 'Atomic Shakespeare Café', Dr Tom Rutter will be discussing Shakespeare’s work in relation to the atomist theory of matter – a theory about what the universe is made of that dates back to the ancient Greeks, and which became newly influential in Shakespeare’s time. Tom will use everyday objects and concepts to explain atomism and show where atomist concepts can be found in Shakespeare. Guests might find it useful to have a beverage and a snack handy, for experimental purposes. This session will be conducted entirely online, so you'll need access to a computer or mobile device. Guests will be sent a link shortly before the session.
