Writing Fiction: Dystopian Present and Future

14 November, 2020, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

This is an online event.

2020 has been an interesting year, and we have seen many elements of science fiction become part of our everyday lives. This creative writing workshop, led by Calum Kerr, will look at the role of speculative fiction, particularly with regard to writing the current situation, and looking to the future. It will feature a range of exercises and hopefully enlighten you on some of the richest writing around.

Calum Kerr is Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Portsmouth, was the founder of the UK’s National Flash Fiction Day, and has published more than 20 books.

This event is part of the ‘Imagining New Worlds’ series by the University of Portsmouth.
