On The Beach: Discovering Early Humans in Norfolk (Activities Day)
16 November, 2019, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Event Navigation

Come along and enjoy an exhibition showcasing the activities of local collectors as well as the research that has taken place at Happisburgh. There will also be opportunities to participate in object handling and identification, see knapping demonstrations and visit the locations on the beach where key discoveries have been made.
Over the last twenty years discoveries at Happisburgh have transformed knowledge of early humans in Britain and established this corner of Norfolk as a key location for the study of the Stone Age. Come and find out more about the research at Happisburgh and explore the connections between our early ancestors in Britain, changes in climate and the landscape of the region.
Due to the nature of this event if you have any questions about accessibility we recommend getting in touch directly with the organiser.
On Friday 15 November between 19:30 and 22:00 there will also be a talk on this subject.
This event is part of the ‘This Time It’s Personal’ Being Human hub series by Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London.
