Event Navigation

This is an online event.
Join history organisations across the UK for a ‘show & tell’ to discover innovative new projects recording local & community history. Organised in conjunction with the Centre for the History of People, Place and Community, this event will showcase innovative new projects and creative approaches to documenting local and community history. Each contributor will highlight one object which represents some aspect of their local and community history work and practice, inviting the audience to participate after the presentations from the panel.
The panel will include:
– Catherine Clarke, Centre for the History of People, Place and Community, IHR (Chair)
– Gary Tuson, History Begins at Home
– Speaker from Young Historians Project
– Tom Hughes, Dumfries and Galloway Museum
– Jessica Lutkin, British Association for Local History
Throughout the day you will also be encouraged to do your own ‘Show and Tell’ on social media, using objects to highlight the importance of documenting local and community history.
This event is part of the series ‘History Day 2020’ organised by Senate House Library and the School of Advanced Study.
