Moving Heaven and Earth

Join the court of Charles I for an immersive experience recreating the sights, sounds and tastes of a royal banquet and theatrical entertainment at Bolsover Castle, with talks to find out more and craft activities for all the family. The festivities are led by Professor Angie Hobbs from the Department of Philosophy at The University of Sheffield and Dr Crosby Stevens, a freelance curator and conservator.
Performances will take place at 11:00, 12:30 and 14:00.
Please note:
- There will be Jacobean sweetmeats and treats to sample (please inform welcome staff of any allergies as there may be nuts in some of the products).
- There will be essentials oils diffusing into the air (please advise welcome staff of any allergies).
- The venue is fully accessible. For those with mobility requirements there is some walking required as it is a promenade experience. There are chairs available. The venue and performance is fully wheelchair accessible.
- The event is family friendly (Recommended ages 7+).
Alongside this performance, craft activities and workshops will also be available: ‘Draw Your Dreams’, 10:00-15:00 and ‘Behind the Mask’ 10:00-15:00.
