Mountains of the Future

November 12 - November 22

This is an online event.

‘A stone can be seen a mountain in miniature.’

Journey through the history of high places, and their place in art, science and culture. By thinking through the past, The Ruskin’s digital exhibition imagines the future of the world’s upland landscapes.

As an artist, writer, ecologist and radical thinker, John Ruskin’s art and ideas were grounded in engagement with the landscapes of the U.K. and Europe. For the first time, this digital exhibition brings together Ruskin’s mountains in leading collections at The Ruskin and the Alpine Club, presented in dialogue with contemporary responses.

This is a free, digital exhibition which will be accessible 24/7 via The Ruskin’s website.

A digital workshop about making ‘Mountains of the Future’ will take place on 19 November, 10:00-12:00.
