Lost and Found Words
20 November, 2019, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Event Navigation

‘Lost and Found Words’ invites 7-11 year old children, their teachers, parents and carers on a journey of language discovery. Through writing and performance, the event will explore words we seldom hear any more, rediscover them and give them new life. Come along to play with the sounds and rhythms of these words and work with musicians to find their musicality.
The event takes place in the heart of London and is likely to have a multilingual audience, so words will also be translated throughout. In this way a new international dictionary will be created through which it will be possible to rediscover the world around us.
Refreshments will be provided.
The workshop is led by Philip Davis of Write Inspired and by members of the Language Acts and Worldmaking project, who have been working together to explore new ways of creating access to language learning in primary schools.
This event is part of the ‘This Time It’s Personal’ Being Human hub series by Queen Mary University of London and King’s College London.
