Living in Ice Age Hackney

17 November, 2018, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Discover what life was like in Hackney 300-400,000 years ago when early humans lived in the Lea Valley and shared the landscape with an array of large animals, such as elephants and lions. Learn from an expert flint-knapper how stone tools are made and handle ancient objects from Hackney Museum’s stone age collections. You can also chat to archaeologists and explore the techniques they use to reconstruct ice age environments. Family-friendly activities will include the opportunity to have a go at making a stone tool and creating cave art!

No need to book. Activities throughout the day!
