I Write My World!

November 17, 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

London is a city full of migrants. Many of us have heritage from all over the world. However it can sometimes be tricky keeping our children in touch with their cultural heritage. This creative writing workshop will give children (8 to 12 years old) with international heritage a chance to explore their cultural identity together with a parent/carer and discuss what ‘home’, ‘roots’ and ‘identity’ mean to them.

Please bring along a photograph or object that makes you think of the places you consider ‘home’ around the world. Taking ideas from these objects and the conversations they inspire, children will engage in writing exercises to express their own opinions and perspectives. The children will explore together the importance of places and memories and what it means to them to have ancestry from places other than where they live.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer.
