Hidden Island Treasures

November 20, 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

This interactive workshop engages with the ‘New Connections’ virtual museum of maritime heritage in the Northern Isles, using exhibits displayed at Heriot-Watt University, to develop fresh perspectives on heritage-making as a resource for sustainable communities and places.

As part of this event there will also be aspects of an innovative museum exhibition that was co-curated by people across Orkney and the Shetland. The exhibition will be at the Heriot-Watt University Museum and will focus on the work of artist John Cumming, who participated in the co-curation, and also worked as artist-in-residence for the duration of this public ethnology. The exhibition will be on display from 18–22 November, 10:00 to 16:00.

This event is part of the ‘Streaming New Voices’ series by Heriot-Watt University.
