England’s Histories Unboxed!
November 20, 4:30 pm - 7:00 pm
The Victoria County History is an ongoing project to write the history of every county in England and is famous for its iconic Red Books. This year the Victoria County History is celebrating its 120th anniversary with Red Boxes, in which counties across England have filled special Red Boxes with objects that represent their history in quirky or surprising ways.
Come along to this ‘unboxing party’ with an exhibition, object handling and live 3D printing (16:30–17:30), followed by a panel discussion (17:30–19:00) with participants from across England. A great opportunity to encounter some secret histories, explore public history practice and learn how you could get involved with the Victoria County History project. Free drinks and nibbles provided!
You will find the ‘unboxing party’ at the home of Victory County History in the Institute of Historical Research.
