Derby’s Moon-Struck Philosophers Tour

23 November, 2019, 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Explore the hidden history of Derby and how the people who lived here influenced scientific, political and philosophical thinking around the world. Uncover facts about the city’s past and the national and international impact of some of its previous residents.

A new library exhibition showcases the archives around members of the Derby Philosophical Society and their famous (and infamous) experiments. Alongside the exhibition, join this free guided walking trail and tour where you can discover the significance of secret spots around the city to which the Derby philosophers were closely connected.

The tour will depart from the Local Studies Library at 14:00.

This event will also take place on Saturday 16 November 14:00-15:30.

Derby’s ‘Moon-Struck Philosophers’ Exhibition will be open throughout the festival, Saturday 16 – Saturday 23 November.
