This creative writing workshop looks at the monumental yet overlooked shifts that happen in families and friendship groups when a loved one becomes a dementia sufferer.
Many people have looked into the eyes of their mothers, fathers, grandparents and spouses, and seen nothing recognisable left of the person. Caring for a friend or family member with dementia can throw our worlds upside down, asking us to reconsider our roles in and relationships with our families.
Join Candi Miller and R. M. Francis for this creative writing workshop that encourages participants to consider their family relationships, changing roles and memories through cutting-edge creative practices. Focusing on the changing relationships following the impact on their lives of dementia and becoming a carer, Candi and Rob will provide the skills and techniques to creatively express their experiences.
This event is part of the ‘Black Country Unscene’ series organised by University of Wolverhampton.
