Conversation Circle: Nationalism and the Possibilities of Plurality

16 November, 2020, 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

This is an online event.

Part of a series of Conversation Circles exploring ideas of brokenness and repair in society.

Led by Sudip Chakraborthy, this discussion will ask questions about how a variety of ethnic, religious and cultural communities can co-exist and co-create against a backdrop of nationalism. Sudip’s research looks at how theatre can aid dialogue and understanding in Bangladesh, but he will be opening up the conversation to both global and local understandings and experiences.

Sudip is studying for a PhD in theatre and performance at Goldsmiths, University of London, on study leave from a theatre-teaching position at the University of Dhaka. He was brought up in an agrarian small town in Bangladesh before becoming an actor and director.

This event is part of ‘Fixing It: Repair as Resistance’ project organised by Goldsmiths, University of London.
