Body Parts in the Archives

November 22, 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

During this Frankenstein-inspired event, you will handle images, documents and drawings relating to anatomy and other subjects, some hundreds of years old. You will be able to view 19th-century pathology watercolours by botanists, find out about experimental x-rays used by early University lecturers, and read intimate descriptions of the inmates of Tayside asylums. The event will also include a special tour of the stores and a chance to find out about how archives are preserved.

This event lasts one hour and will be repeated, once at 3:00pm to 4:00pm and then again at 4:00pm to 5:00pm.

This event is suitable for those over 16 years of age.

Please note the date of this event has been changed. The event will now run on Thursday 22 November.
