Being Human in Conversation: the American Election
12 November, 2020, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Event Navigation

This is an online event.
Following what will be one of the most consequential elections of our time, join Being Human festival director Professor Sarah Churchwell in conversation with Bonnie Greer OBE as they discuss the impact of the 2020 American election. Sarah and Bonnie will cover key aspects of the election, including the role of racial politics and Black Lives Matter, gender politics and white suburban women, and the future of the American political system. November’s contest will be a referendum on the future of American politics — and, many believe, the future of America itself.
Both natives of Chicago, Sarah and Bonnie will share their insights on American culture, race relations and history and the role these have played in this year’s presidential battle. Bonnie and Sarah will also discuss their overlapping family roots in Chicago and how their stories represent many of the questions America faces today. Join this online event to reflect on the election and share your thoughts in the Q&A.
